Redskins Signs Robert Griffin III To Four-Year Deal

According to Gregg Rosenthal of NFL Around the League, the Washington Redskins and Robert Griffin III have agreed on a four-year deal that is worth $21.1 million and will get $21.1 million fully guaranteed over the next four years. RG3 is only a few first round picks who have signed with there team this off-season.

Redskins traded up this off-season to get RG3 in the 2012 NFL Draft this year. Redskins gave up three 1st-round draft picks and a 2nd round draft to acquire RG3 with the no. 2 pick from the Rams and expressed that RG3 is the franchise quarterback for the Redskins. Now that RG3 is under contract for the next four years, expect RG3 to make a name for himself come this season.

Matt Forte Signs Four-Year Deal With Bears

According Marc Sessler of NFL Around the League, the Chicago Bears and Matt Forte have agreed on a four-year deal that is worth $32 million, which includes $18 million guarantee. Forte has expressed all this off-season that he wanted a new deal or he will sit out this training camp. Forte had til Monday to sign a long-term deal or he have to play under the franchise tender, which he refuse to do.

Now that Bears and Forte have agreed on a new deal, Bears fans can be happy now that their star running back will be in training camp and will be ready to go come the 2012 season. Forte registered 997 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns before going down with an injury last season and was a big part to the Bears success. Now that Forte has his contract, expect the Bears to be roaring this 2012 season.

Ray Rice Signs Long-Term Deal with Ravens

According to Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com, the Baltimore Ravens and Ray Rice have agreed on a five-year contract worth $40 million. The deal will pay Rice $17 million in the first year and $25 million in the first two years. Monday was the last day for the Ravens and Rice to sign a long-term deal or Rice would have to play under the franchise tender.

Rice was a handful of players this off-season that wanted a new contract and threatened to sit out of training camp if a new deal was not given. Rice scored 15 touchdowns with 1,364 yards rushing in 2011, also catching 76 catches for 704 yards. Now that Rice has a new contract, expect Rice to be in full gear in training camp.

Drew Brees Gets New Contract

According to Chris Mortensen of ESPN, the New Orleans Saints and Drew Brees have agreed on a 5-year, $100 million dollar contract that includes $60 million in guarantee money. For the next three years, Brees would make $61 million during that stretch, with $60 million fully guaranteed, the highest guaranteed total an NFL player has ever earned.

Brees made it clear that he was not reporting to camp without a new deal and had til Monday to sign a long-term contract with the team. Saint fans do not need to worry anymore about Brees not coming camp. Expect the star quarterback to be in the huddle come this  2012 season.
